An interesting research website which documents the flight patterns across the United States for roughly 24 hours in fast forward. Flight paths were given colors, and traced against a black background.

The method for producing the work comes from an open source programming platform known as Processing, and can be found here.

Several artists and architects have begun exploiting this relatively easy to learn language for aesthetic affect. Complexification is one such example. Enjoy.
